Kokoro and his blind sister Yume, move to a small island named Hohzuki Island. They will be continuing their study there with 4 other student. It’s a gloomy place, indeed. They are sent there for being abandoned by their parents.
The mystery tickles him as soon as he hears that someone who used the room before them is passed away. The teachers are hiding things from them. There’s also locked drawer.

I am reading this story right now and this is pretty scary stuff. What really happens is that there are adults and children in this strange island. In the first chapter, there was this girl who has been killed just by telling the “truth” to the adults. Now she returns to a form of an ghost that haunts the kids and the adults in the island. Much things have not been said about her, but all I know is that in the last chapter, there are are kids who are suspicious about this “stair,” so they want to try and find out about this stair. *SPOILER* There is this cabinet that leads to this stair, and when the kids get to the end of the stair, one boy takes out a match and lights up the room, and there are markings on the wall that says “Don’t Kill Me, Save Me, I Don’t Want to Die.” Those were the kids that were killed by the adults or the kids who killed themselves. Its a pretty sick plot, but I think the author of the book stopped making it.
