All the employees are ghost too. They are Yuu-the chef, Enomoto-the butler, Misa–the maid. Ema is the only human employee. She was hired officially to throw garbage in the day light. Ha ha

Many ghosts gather in that restaurant every night. Even though they’re dead, they still opening connection to their past life. That’s why they’re ghost, right? Ema is the most fascinated one to help them. While Saeki always says ” Stay away from trouble” or ” It’s not your business”, while actually he helps them without anyone notice.
I never read anything from Shin Yui sensei before, but I think this one is good.
This is another project by aerandria
Waki Yamato sensei is very consistent writing story about woman emancipation. This time she talk about two young girl: a young lady, Mariko and her maid, Uno. They might differ in status, but they keep their friendship. The young lady has fall in love with her neighbor since they were small. He also feels the same. Since he wants to be a doctor, he goes to America leaving the young lady with a broken heart. She thought of leaving her hometown, Yokohama, but she just can’t get out of the harbor. She, then, sends Uno to ‘take care’ of her beloved one. None knows Uno would fall in love with the doctor. They never came back to Japan.
As for Mariko, there is this guy who loved her since he saved her on the boat. He was a poor boy. But, now, he’s back as successful merchant. He’s back to propose her. Due to recession, the lady’s shop beginning deteriorating, so her father accept the proposal. It isn’t happy marriage at first, because the lady thinks she just been bought. But, soon love grows and blooms in her heart.
Being a rich man’s wife doesn’t make the young lady become lazy. She takes over her father’s old shop and rebuild the business. Without asking support from her husband, she succeeded to revitalize the family business.
It’s a very old story, so I only know that ivyscan had scan and publish it online.
I read this manga about 12-15 years ago. I was a little girl back then. I didn’t really understand about woman’s emancipation. But, then I read more works from Waki Yamato sensei. All her works contains of spirit message for woman.
Since the old times women have certain rules: to serve man. That’s why it wasn’t necessary for them to study hard and achieve higher education. Because they will end up taking care of the house: cooking, cleaning, and sleeping.
It was a custom when mature man married to young girl. 14 to 12 years old girl is considered as the best age for a wedding. But, Hanamura Benio hate it. Born from military family, Benio grow up as strong tomboy girl. When her father told her to marry Ijuiin Shinobu, a young rich lieutenant, Benio take her best friend, Ranmaru, to run away.
On their way, they end up in a bar fighting. Fortunately, they met Ijuin who help them escape. Now that Benio has a favor to return, she agrees to go to Ijuin’s house to be trained as a good wife. It won’t be easy, because she can’t cook and she tends to broke things. Can you imagine how depressed the trainer is? Ha ha ha

While the story continues, it becomes more and more romantic. Ijuin is finally sent to Siberia and Benio promise him to take care of the house along with his grandparents. But, bad news comes after that. They say her fiancée is dead. The Ijuin house also face greater problem, they are so close to bankruptcy because of him die (Ijuin was the family backbone). Benio has to work as a reporter to meet the ends. Even though the grandparents tell her to go back to Hanamura’s family, she refuses. She already thinks that she’s part of the family.
Kotobuki Ran grows up in police family. Her father is a commissioner, her mother is street policewoman, so does her brother. Her younger sister is very excited to become police woman too. Her father trained her since she was 4 years old. He even bought her a test book for police entrance examination.
But, Ran hates it. DO YOU KNOW WHY?
She likes to fight. She loves kicking bad guys asses.
So, WHY DOES SHE REFUSE TO BE A COP?
Hmmm….

It’s because being a police woman means she has to be discipline, wears uniforms and no high heels. THAT WOULD BE KILLING HER. How can she is not wearing the cute dress, with those funky nails and zoko shoes? How can she even go out without fancy make ups? That’s out of question.
So, this is a story how Ran, a gal, live her live the fullest.
