Quod Erat Demonstrandum is the story about So Toma, a genius who graduated from MIT at the age of 15. He comes to Japan to experience the live of high school. That’s where he meet Kana Mizuhara, a daughter of police inspector who like to get her hands on other’s stuffs. Kana’s curiosity and Toma’s intelligence are the great combination to solve many cases.

Katou Motohiro sensei makes this manga quite fascinating. Most the cases are some things we can see everyday. It means, it’s not always about homicide. He he he

Our school got a new student. She’s cute but not sweet. She’s sexy but not bitch. She’s noisy but get the 2nd rank in the school. She’s Naoko Kitashiro. She insist to be called ‘nakki’.

There are always a lot of fun when you’re around her.

I think people can screw up when they really can do things. Like Nakki, she can be naughty because she’s been working hard to get good grade. It seems like a privilege only great people can get. So, I think it’s funny when someone who has no accomplishment asking for bigger reward. Please!!

Behind her happy face, she had been living hard. Born from a wealthy family, Naki and Maru, her twin have to be separated since they were little. Maru is not health enough to live like any other kids. So, Nakki was sent to her grandfather’s hometown until she was 14. she was invited back to Tokyo after that. Nakki never said bad things to Maru because she loves her. But, she takes too many things in Nakki’s life: The support from her parents, the chance to live like a child who has parents and her first love. Yup, they both fall in love with the same man. And that man chooses Maru because he thinks she won’t live long.

I cried after reading it. She’s tough, but she’s a human too. She held herself too many times to show her sadness.

The story ends in volume 26 when Nakki accept the marriage proposal from her best friend. That’s way too romantic. And I took a deep breath and think ” Finally she get happiness”.

Mahigashi sensei, Teru’s father, is a legendary surgeon. But, he died in plane crash. He did saved his son from death. That’s the reason Teru grew up and aiming to become great surgeon.

The path is not easy for him. Being such a careless person, Teru appears to be more like clown than a dependable doctor. It gets him trouble and blessing at the same time. Being unable to perform professionally, the doctors despised him. But, his funny appearance is loved by the patients. They like to hang around him. His presence creates warm surrounding. I really think that’s another competency a doctor must accomplish.

The genius sense is in his blood. When it comes to the time to save patient, Teru would completely become different person. He operates amazingly. While he does that, he’s like connecting to the patient’s soul. He feels every beat and so he tries not to make more burden to the sick body.

It might be a long way to be the greatest surgeon, but he surely has the potency!

Seiji Sawamura is a notorious delinquent student. His looks always make people scare, including the girls. Seiji only want to have a normal life (read: having girlfriend). But, since everyone’s so afraid of him, he could not get anyone. On the top of his frustration he yelled, ” ANYONE CAN BE MY GIRLFRIEND”.

Then, a word come out from his hand, ” Really?” Instead of having his right punch, he has a girl on his hand.

Her name is Midori, she’s been in love with Seiji for years, but too shy to confess. Accident happened and she left her body to replace his hand. Seiji is happy and afraid at the same time. Now that he has someone who like him, he has to lose his hand. People will laugh at him.

Midori-on the contrary is very exited. She’s acting like a newly wed. How’s they live their crazy days? Read them on 8 volumes of Midori no Hibi by Inoue Kazurou sensei.

The 7th years working manga, 20th Century Boys, is going to the end. It must have taken a lot of hard work from Urasawa Naoki in giving the comic sensational plot. I mean, it is not something you can understand if you just read one volume once. I need to read it twice for each volume. Man, it’s so crazy. I can’t find any other suitable word to describe it. Urasawa sensei sure is a nut! That’s a compliment ‘__`

Surprisingly I can accept the theme so well. It’s about children rivalry. Children are great creatures. They’re honest and energetic. But, they can’t forget easily. All bad and good things remain in their memory. They take them when they start growing. Those things fulfill their mind and shape it. They became an adult by the experience they perceived.

Jealousy is the reason of all ruckuses in the 20th Century Boys. “Friend” always wanted to be better kid. But, he saw Kenji seemed superior than his generosity. Kenji had all the friends he wanted. Kenji was surrounded with luck. Kenji had everything he wished. “Friend” keeps the jealousy inside him and grows it into revenge.

I can not believe he actually demolished human life because of small thing. Well, I guess, we can not judge the size of a matter. Two person can perceive the same thing in different ways. Children have their own pride too. Most of the times, adult abandon that reality and create deteriorating situation for them. We judge them short minded, stupid or coward. We don’t hear what they say, because we assume it would not be important. We ignore their protest since it won’t affect us. They are small creature but we seldom treat them like human, God made creature.

That’s the main idea in the manga. Such a long and dramatized story has brought us another view to human behavior. Too many characters here indeed, but Urasawa sensei has not failed to give each details. Everyone is important part of the show. Even though, it’s hard for me to remember everyone’s face. Like I said, it has too many!

I REALLY think that Urasawa played too hard to get. He didn’t uncover the mystery we’ve been waiting for since the 1rst book. We want to know the real face of “Friend”. But, he still covers him with mask until the volume 22.(WHAT’S WRONG WITH YOUUUUUUUUUUUU????!!)

Along with the uneasy plot, they readers are angry. Urasawa sensei kept Kenji, the central character, way too long. There were about 12 books when we all thought Kenji was REALLY DEAD!! How could you do that, sensei? It made the story sucks.

Despite of all the critics above, this is a great dizzying story. I’ll be waiting for the next episode of psychological drama he writes. It would be the “21rst Century Boy”, I guess.

Why does Izaku has to be so cute? It’s not fair!!! I’d die looking for that kind of man.

Kanata Kara is another manga from Kyoko Hikawa sensei. If you have read Chizumi to Fujiomi stories ( Golden book, Autumn Wind), Miriam and Need for each other, you’ll know what kind of perfect man sensei’s love. But, among them, I love Izaku the most.

Izaku know he was suppose to be “the Dark”. It would happen when ” The Light” comes into his world. It is Noriko, a normal high school student who trapped in that world. But, Noriko is not a cry baby. She adjusts fast enough.

When Izaku become “The Dark”, he has more powerful strength and somehow he looses his mind. But, Noriko can control Izaku’s power by her ” Light”. The two of them can become powerful weapons. That’s the reason there are so many countries want to capture them.

Her innocent face caught Izaku. While Noriko has been helped so many times. Yes, this a love story…again with adventure recipes. As you expected from Hikawa sensei.

It took her 12 years to complete the story. It was quite long for 14 volumes, right? That’s because she has bad health condition. Even though the manga come out almost once in a year, we would wait for it. Because this is Hikawa sensei’s!!!

J is an assassin. He faked his death after stealing 1 ton of Heroin from 24, the biggest criminal organization. He knew, it was too early to sell the hot stuffs, so he hid those things in the black boards.

Unfortunately, the black boards are sent to a school to be used. J has to protect his belongings. He comes to the school as a teacher.

That’s where the adventure begun.

J meets many people who would eventually become his allies. They don’t call themselves friends, but they do share the same heart. Cool.

J is another artwork by Fujiwara Yoshihide sensei whom I remembered for Kenji! That’s why there’s so much heroic essence in this project.

But, man…I hate the premature ending!!!!!!!

Yotsuba Koiwai(5 yrs) lives with her father in a small house. His father is a translator. He has a huge friend named Jumbo. Yotsuba likes drawing, playing in the rain and drinking milk. Having 3 girls as her neighbor, Yotsuba never feel lonely.

Getting Excellence Award for manga in 2006, Yotsuba is very much knowledgeable. If you have children and want to educate them in cool way, you might wanna peep this story. I’m rating this perfect:
